AN OPEN-STREET CELEBRATION OF THE LYNDALE AVE CORRIDOR!
The Lyndale Avenue corridor has always been a place where neighbors, food, and small business meet. On Saturday, August 22, 2026, we’re closing the street to open it up. Taste of Lyndale transforms the corridor into an open-street festival – a free, family-friendly celebration built to bring people to the block, connect them with the businesses that make it, and show the corridor off at its best. This is a corridor activation first: every element of the day is designed to put feet on the sidewalk and eyes on Lyndale’s businesses and the community that they serve.
CORRIDOR
An open-street format that shuts down car traffic and hands the street back to pedestrians – for one day, North Lyndale belongs to the people. Cars step aside and a stretch of the corridor opens up — a place to wander, browse, and linger. Storefronts, vendors and other activities along the way is part of the fun, ready to welcome you in.
BUSINESS
This event exists because of local business, and it exists for local business. A curated lineup of Lyndale corridor restaurants, shops, and food vendors gets direct, in-person time with new customers and neighbors who may not have walked the corridor before. This is a chance to be discovered, not just displayed.
COMMUNITY
Live music, local art and makers, and family-friendly activities round out the day – bringing people to the corridor and giving them a reason to stay once they’re there. A backpack giveaway supports local students as part of the day’s community impact.
On Saturday, August 22, the Lind-Bohanon Neighborhood Association (LBNA) will host Taste of Lyndale, a community-centered business corridor activation event along the N Lyndale avenue corridor from 44th-46th Ave. N.
Together with our neighbors, we’ll share great food, live music, local culture, and family fun – while supporting our local businesses and strengthening our community. Get ready for activities throughout the day:
🎒Backpack Giveaway: We’re once again hosting our annual backpack giveaway, right in the middle of the festivities! Last year, we helped nearly 150 families get their kids ready for the first day of school — and we’re gearing up to do it again. No registration required — just bring your child(ren) with you, and a parent or guardian will need to sign in on-site. Giveaway begins at noon!
🎤 Special Guests: We’re honored to welcome elected officials Ward 4 Council Member LaTrisha Vetaw, Senator Bobby Joe Champion, and Representative Fue Lee, who’ll be joining us to celebrate the community.
🎶 Live Music at The Camden Social: Starting at 1pm, head over to the Camden Social patio for live music and free lite bites while they last! It’s the perfect spot to grab a bite or beverage, relax, and soak in the corridor vibes.
💵 Fundraiser: To help raise funds for LBNA so that we can continue to offer community responsive programs, resources and information, we have partnered with Industrial Arts Mentorship of All to create a limited edition, hand made, steel yard sign. Signs will be available for sale or pre-order at the event:
